Accessibility
We want DinnerCount to work for everyone in the house, whatever they use to reach it. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, on these pages and inside the app.
What That Means in Practice
- The films on our pages are captioned, and every film plays from one tap or one keypress.
- The app works with a keyboard alone, and with the screen readers built into phones and computers. Buttons say what they do, and a checked box reads as checked.
- Text and controls keep enough contrast to read, in the light and the dark theme, and everything stays usable when you make the text larger.
- Nothing flashes, and the short looping films stand still when your device asks for less motion.
If Something Is Hard to Use
Please tell us. Email support@dinnercount.com and say where you were and what got in the way. It helps to name the screen, the device, and any screen reader or setting you use. A person reads your message and replies, and we fix what we can quickly. Your message is also how we find the things an automated check cannot.
How We Check
Each build is checked against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules with an automated tool on the pages and the main screens of the app, and the findings are fixed before it ships. Automated checks catch only part of what matters, so the reports we receive count for more.
